TRYO is a Chilean band, which has 36 years of extraordinary artistic career, that has recorded studio – live albums (in Chile, Brazil and the United States), has toured Chile and abroad (America, Europe, etc.), appearing in the most prestigious festivals around the world and sharing the stage with some of the best artists of the last decades.
The group was borned f rom the reunion of three renowned Chilean academics and musicians: i.e. Ismael Cortez A. (classical and guitar and vocals), Francisco Cortez A. (cello,
f retted / f retless electric bass, and vocals) and Felix Carbone K. (drums and various percussion instruments, such as vibraphone, marimba, darduka, etc.). Although the latter continues to be connected with the group, after his decision to go live in France in 2022 the drums and percussions were taken over by one of his most prominent disciples, Felipe Baldrich M., who is a relevant young musician in Chile. Along with him, a fourth permanent member, Pablo Martínez R., joined the band on keyboards, synthesizers, and programming. Additionally, for certain recordings and tours, the group enhances its sound by inviting other talented Chilean and foreign artists (e.g., Ernesto Holman G., Pascuala Ilabaca A., Jaime Frez R., Boris Del Rio R. –Peter Gabriel´s New Blood Orchestra in Chile- , Etienne Sthandier C., Omar Sepúlveda, Claudio Ramírez E., Cecilia Cortez A., Gonzalo Cortes M., Ignacio Carvajal G., etc.).
Its unique and distinctive sound, is the result of the fusion of various musical genres, including Metal, Rock, Jazz, Chilean and Latin American folklore, World Music, Classical Music and Electronic Music, which provides a great sound variety to its discography.
